High-intensity interval training can involve 15-45 min workouts, consisting of short periods of high-intensity exercise with low-intensity recovery period. Research suggests that it can help you lose up 28.5% more weight compared to any less intense forms of exercise. Myzone measures (99.4% accurate to an EKG) and rewards effort over time based on % of max HR, with 5 easy to follow colour coded target zones, grey, blue, green, yellow and red, that reward you with MEPs (Myzone Effort Points) for how much time you spend in each zone. For example, the yellow zone is 80% to 89% of your max HR and rewards you with 4 MEPs per minute.

In terms of HIIT with Myzone, trainers can easily guide members in a session via the colored effort zones on the screen. Referencing name, effort, and MEPs during a session helps to motivate, reward, and level the playing field, gamifying the user's experience and adding yet another element to HIIT programming.
