What is the Myzone x Garmin Challenge?

The Myzone x Garmin Challenge is a global challenge launching on 1 August 2026, designed to encourage more members to access the Myzone ecosystem through their existing Garmin smartwatch.

By connecting Garmin through Myzone Go, members can participate in Challenges, earn Myzone Effort Points (MEPs) and engage with the wider Myzone experience without needing a Myzone device.

Members need to earn 2,000 MEPs during August to be entered into the prize draw. 

Does my member need a Myzone Go subscription to participate?

Yes.

Because Garmin integration is delivered through Myzone Go, members will need an active Myzone Go subscription to participate in the MEPs challenge.

If they are not already subscribed, they will be prompted to activate their 30-day free trial when connecting their Garmin watch.

THERE IS NO PURCHASE NECESSARY for the Prize Draw. 18+ and age of majority. Open to legal residents of the UK and 49 U.S. states plus DC (Rhode Island and U.S. territories excluded), and any additional territories listed in the Official Rules. Entry Period: 1-31 August 2026 UTC. One Prize: Garmin Forerunner 970 plus Myzone merchandise, approx. GBP 700 / USD 880. Get one entry by completing 2,000 eligible Garmin-recorded MEPs with a connected Garmin and active Myzone Go subscription/trial, OR enter free here without an account, device, subscription, exercise or health data. Standard 14-day Myzone Go trial auto-renews at GBP 5.99 / USD 6.99 monthly unless cancelled under app-store terms. One entry per person. Official Rules here.  

How much does Myzone Go cost for my members?

Members receive a 30-day free trial.

 Unless cancelled before the trial ends, Myzone Go automatically renews through the applicable app store at GBP 5.99 or USD 6.99 per month, subject to the price, taxes, billing cycle, cancellation method, and other terms displayed by Apple App Store or Google Play at purchase.

A subscription is not required to enter the Prize Draw. Free online entry is available here.  

Do clubs receive a subscription rebate for members who subscribe to Myzone Go as part of this challenge?

Yes.

Members who activate a paid Myzone Go subscription following the Garmin Challenge will qualify towards the Myzone Go subscription rebate programme.

To qualify, members must subscribe to either:

A 6-month subscription plan  

An annual subscription plan

How long does the challenge run for?

The challenge runs from:

1 August – 31 August 2026 

Do members need to earn MEPs exclusively through their Garmin watch?

No.

Once a member has connected their Garmin watch through Myzone Go, all MEPs earned will count towards the challenge, including MEPs earned through their Myzone device.

However, members must have a Garmin device connected in the Myzone app throughout the duration of the challenge to qualify for the prize draw.

 

Once a Garmin device is connected, can members still use their Myzone device to earn MEPs towards the challenge?

Yes.

As long as their Garmin watch remains connected in the Myzone App for the duration of the challenge, members can continue using their Myzone device and all earned MEPs will contribute towards their challenge progress. 

Please note, members can only have one smartwatch connected to Myzone at any one time. Existing smartwatch must be removed before connecting Garmin. 

Can members participate if they don't own a Garmin watch?

No.

This specific challenge is designed for members connecting a Garmin smartwatch through Myzone Go.

Members with Apple Watch and Android smartwatches can access Myzone Go, but they will not be eligible for this Garmin-specific challenge. 

Can I opt out of promoting the challenge to my members?

Yes.

You can opt out of promoting the Global Challenge to your members by letting us know at challenges@myzone.org by 30th July 2026.

Doing so will prevent email and push notification communications being sent to members under your facility code.  

However, please be advised that the challenge will be promoted in the Myzone App, which means anyone using the app can choose to connect their Garmin to participate.  

Can I see how many members from my club are participating?

We don't share this data specifically for global Myzone challenges. However, in the Owners Portal you can filter the list of users by device type, which will give you insights into your Garmin users.  

Can I create my own local version of the challenge?

No, this is a global Myzone challenge.

Are promotional assets available to me promote this challenge to my members?

Yes. 

A full campaign toolkit will be available in the Marketing Portal, including: 

  • Social media assets
  • Digital screen creative 
  • Posters with QR codes 
  • Video content  
Will Myzone communicate directly with my members during the challenge?

Yes, unless your club has opted out.

Myzone will send motivational communications, including push notifications and emails, to participating members throughout the challenge. 

When will the winner be announced?

The winner will be announced during the first week of September 2026. Please note, challenge participants are required to have an active Garmin connection and Myzone Go subscription to qualify.  

How will the winner be selected?

The winner will be selected at random using a random selection tool. The winner will be contacted personally by Myzone, and we will also be sharing on our social media channels.

The Myzone x Garmin Challenge helps more of your members access the Myzone ecosystem using technology they already own.

By bringing more members into Myzone, clubs can create more opportunities for engagement through:

How does my member connect their Garmin?

Members need to:

Navigate to device connections

How will members know they have entered the challenge?

Once the member adds a Garmin device, they will receive a challenge invite via email, in-app notification, and push notification. They must accept this invite to participate in the challenge.  

What happens if a member disconnects their Garmin during the challenge?

They will remain in the challenge but will not be entered into the prize draw.  

Do members need to manually enter the challenge?

Members will get a challenge invite that they have to accept in order to join. 

Can members see their challenge progress?

Yes, your members can see their progress within the Challenges screen in the Myzone app. 

Does the challenge count MEPs earned before joining?

Any MEPs earned in August will count even if those earned before your member connected their Garmin. 

Is there a limit to the number of members who can participate from my club?

No, there is no limit.  

What happens if a member already has Myzone Go?

Existing Myzone Go subscribers can connect their Garmin and participate immediately, but they must disconnect their existing smartwatch. Myzone Go only allows one smartwatch connection at a time. In order to qualify for the prize draw, members must not disconnect their Garmin at any point during the month.  

What happens after the 30-day free trial?

At the end of the 30-day free trial, your members Myzone Go subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless they cancel before the trial ends. 

If your member chooses to cancel, they will no longer be able to use Myzone Go to connect their Garmin or other compatible smartwatch to Myzone. Members can still use a Myzone wearable device to earn Myzone Effort Points (MEPs) and access the Myzone experience.
