Garmin and Myzone: A Match Made in Effort

Garmin Connects to Myzone Go: Growing Your Gym Community
Garmin is officially in the game.
Your members can now link the Garmin watch they already wear and earn MEPs automatically for every single workout, no extra hardware needed. For gym operators, this means more of your membership into your Myzone ecosystem, driving engagement and retention with zero administrative heavy lifting.
What’s Changed?
Garmin now joins Apple Watch and Android Wear in the Myzone ecosystem. Any model that syncs to Garmin Connect will now feed workouts straight into Myzone. This means your Garmin-wearing members can earn MEPs, compete in challenges, and climb your leaderboards.
Why This Matters for Your Gym
- Your community just got bigger: Members who already own a compatible Garmin, often your most dedicated, high frequency athletes, can jump into your Myzone community instantly. Best of all? You don't have to sell them a thing.
- Retention on autopilot: More members earning MEPs means more healthy competition and community gamification. It’s the exact kind of high energy motivation that keeps members coming back.
- Zero admin for your staff: Members handle the connection themselves right inside Myzone Go. Data syncs seamlessly in the background, leaving your team free to focus on what they do best: coaching and connecting.
- Unlock your high intent members: Garmin is the go-to choice for runners, cyclists, triathletes, and hybrid athletes. This integration makes these high value, committed trainers visible inside your gym's community.
What it Means for Your Members
They get to keep using the gear they love, but with added superpowers. Members will earn MEPs automatically for every run, ride, lift, or swim. Plus, on supported Garmin models, they can view their real-time MEPs and heart rate right on your in club display screens.
How It Works
The integration offers two tiers of compatibility:
- Full Activity Tracking: Every compatible watch syncing to Garmin Connect records workouts into Myzone as a full activity (capturing MEPs, effort zones, heart rate percentages, duration, and calories).
- Real-Time Display: Models featuring Bluetooth HR Broadcasting will also stream real-time MEPs and heart rate directly onto your in-club screens.
Note: To get started, members just need the Garmin Connect app, a compatible watch, and an active Myzone Go subscription. They can connect one smartwatch to their account at a time.

Promote It in Your Club
Want to get the word out? We’ve put together a free Operator Marketing Pack packed with in-club screen graphics, posters, flyers, and a handy one-pager for your members. You don't need to do a thing to activate the integration, but this pack will help you maximize member adoption.

Operator FAQ
Does Myzone now work with Garmin? Yes. Members can connect their watch to Myzone via a Myzone Go subscription and earn MEPs automatically for every workout, no extra Myzone hardware required.
Is there any admin or setup for my gym staff? None at all. Members manage the connection themselves through the app, and data syncs automatically. There is nothing for your team to install or maintain.
Which of my members can use this integration? Any member who owns a compatible watch that syncs with the Garmin Connect app, and who has an active Myzone Go subscription.
Do MEPs from Garmin watches count toward our club challenges and leaderboards? Absolutely. MEPs earned via connected smartwatches carry the exact same weight as those from standard Myzone devices. They count toward all club challenges, leaderboards, and lifetime status levels.
Can a member use multiple smartwatches, like an Apple Watch and a Garmin? A standard Myzone Go subscription allows members to connect one smartwatch at a time, though they can easily swap between devices within the app if they switch hardware.
Does this cost my members anything extra? Connecting a smartwatch requires an active Myzone Go subscription. If a member doesn't have one yet, they can easily start a free trial right when they link their watch.
