Freaky Friday fitness and an electric atmosphere at the PROGYM circus
by Myzone on Friday, 29 November 2024
Imagine a gym where members are more motivated, engaged, and loyal than ever. That’s exactly what PROGYM in Morocco has created, backed by Myzone heart rate technology.
From friendly competition to unbeatable camaraderie, discover how this passionate fitness community is setting new standards for member experience. You can do the same, by embracing the ethos behind heart rate training.
Myzone integration from day one
Fitness Invest, which owns PROGYM in Mohammedia, Morrocco, integrated heart rate training into the facility from day one, onboarding staff to understand Myzone technology that drives member engagement, retention and loyalty.
The tech is key to the club’s community-driven approach, helping to motivate members and build connections, with everyone having fun as they do it.
Having used Myzone for years and experienced its benefits, Fitness Invest owner, Anis Khalil, decided to create a Myzone-driven environment through wearable tech for PROGYM when the club launched in 2019.
“Myzone has truly transformed our business,” he explains.
“Its impact on member engagement, retention and staff motivation makes it an essential tool in our fitness offering.”
How to foster a sense of community
PROGYM has an extensive offering that includes a weight training gym, women’s gym, functional training space, group cycling studio, exercise studio, and a swimming pool.
Since its introduction, Myzone has been instrumental in fostering a sense of community among PROGYM’s members.

By tracking their heart rates and awarding Myzone Effort Points (MEPs), the technology puts members on a level playing field.
This ensures they can enjoy the buzz of friendly competition and celebrate each other’s progress while working towards their personal fitness goals.
Positive impact on member motivation
Members love the gamification of the technology and that sense of accomplishment as they earn their MEPs in real-time. The impact on gym member motivation has been noticeable, says Anis.
“Myzone is fun and easy to use, which motivates members to work out more often. It makes workouts more exciting and encourages regular attendance.”
Monthly and seasonal challenges, like the popular seven-day challenge where members aim to earn 500 MEPs and are entered into a prize draw for hitting the target, are embedded in the club’s culture.
“The Myzone challenges help keep our members motivated and strengthen the PROGYM community by encouraging a sense of belonging,” Anis continues.
“They bring members together and increase their engagement.” And that boost in engagement and motivation has contributed to higher retention rates.

“Myzone has greatly improved member retention and loyalty in our club. It's a motivating way for members to track their progress and keeps them coming back.”
A key coaching tool for staff in the gym
For staff, Myzone has become a key coaching tool. Equipped with Myzone devices, PROGYM trainers can monitor members’ heart rates to tailor workout sessions and motivate members to push themselves further.
Starting with Myzone as an add-on purchase, PROGYM is now working towards including it in all memberships so that every member can benefit from the technology.

Following the success of Myzone at PROGYM, Fitness Invest has become a Myzone distributor, sharing the benefits of the heart rate tracker with other fitness clubs in the region.
Myzone making a difference to your business
“We truly believe in the value of Myzone,” says Anis. “After seeing its positive impact in our own club, we wanted to share this technology with others.
“Many clubs have shown strong interest, and we’ve been helping them explore the benefits and see how Myzone can make a difference to their business.
“It’s an invaluable addition for both your club and your members and we believe it’s one of the best investments you can make.”
